Prof. Hsisheng Teng visited to the University of Hong Kong to give a seminar. His presentation was held in CPD-3.01 on Centennial Campus on Aug 21, 2015. His presentation was entitled “GRAPHENE OXIDE PARTICLES WITH QUANTUM CONFINEMENT FOR PHOTOLUMINESCENCE AND PHOTOCATALYTIC WATER SPLITTING.” Prof. Hsisheng Teng received his Ph.D. from Brown University in Engineering in 1992 and worked as an associate research fellow at China Steel Corporation until 1993. He is currently a distinguished professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and an associate director at center for micro/nano science and technology (CMNST) at National Cheng Kung University. He has won the Thomson Reuters Taiwan Research Front Awards in 2011 and the Outstanding Research Award at Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan in 2015. His research interests include nanoporous materials, photovoltaic solar cells, electrochemical supercapacitors, photoeletrodes for water splitting, and catalytic reactions.
